For a small company looking at all the vendors showcasing their amazing equipment at the ISS Show is like taking a kid to a candy store and telling him he can’t have any candy. There were so many different kinds of presses, irons, ink vendors, tee-shirt vendors, everything you can imagine and more for the screen printing industry. The overwhelming desire to get all of it was too much, but then realizing that one press cost approximately 150,000 and looking at an amazing film printer that uses no ink to print; I was blown away.

One of the things that we loved to see at the show, was International Coatings displaying a printing demo with foil. The artist printed on the shirt, then pressing a texture on top replicating the textured material. After, he applied foil, adding 2 to 3 colors. Almost effortlessly he had created a great graphic textured with no need to tweak the artwork. But aside from all the different techniques and new products the shirt contest takes the cake. For those who are not familiar, every year printing companies submit shirts with different techniques. They are always looking for the newest, most interesting and innovative design to crown winner. This year the contestants took high density to another level. There was a shirt that was almost unreal. The “Toast Tee.” Layer after layer of ink creating a sandwich on top of the shirt. I mean literally a sandwich! The design was submitted by ETF Tekstil Konf A.S. from Istanbul, Turkey. The shirt total 9 colors and who knows how many passes. If you don’t believe me see for yourself.“The Toast Tee.” There were so many other mind blowing things at the show and I just can’t express them all but go ahead and check out the link above I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Many companies focus on expanding their business in a profitable way and of course who doesn’t. Though not many realize that expanding their business means being more open minded to the work that you do.Every company has a reputation to uphold and no one wants their reputation to be known as “low quality screen printer around the block.”
In this fast paced competitive environment that is LA, the best way to attract more business is just by being yourself. Sure there are some bumpy rides along money making valley, but it should not discourage you from doing what you love. One of the most important things that we believe to be true here at Deluxe Screen Printing is that it all starts with the family. Having strong communication with your employees is key to expanding your business. Not only strong communication but also having a safe, stable trustworthy working environment among employees and bosses. Another important key is having goals for your company and standards that you should always honor. Not every job is worth taking. Often companies pretend to uphold their reputation by name dropping but it isn’t about the fame or stardom that you should focus on. Is about creating good quality prints and services to your clients. Eventually you will find the right clients for and they will look for you because you provide great services above all others. Know you are asking yourselves, Well.. How do I expand? A good question that only you and your company can answer. Ask your selves what is your target market? I can give you an example, Deluxe Screen Printing (me) we are a high quality screen printing company that strives on providing our clients with the best service and diverse selection of techniques. We are fairly small company, and we like it that way. Our goal isn’t to expand into a mass market, we love to provide our clients with a personalized interaction that can lead to strong closed bonds. We host live printing events that keep us connect with the arts and we love doing it. One of our goals as a company is to expand towards the art culture in Los Angeles and bring creative minds into our world. For us our passion is the arts, environment and culture. For others it might be sports and sporting events regardless of your company’ niche the best way to expand your company is to stand for something more than a business and to always be honest to yourself and your clients.

Awesome NEW inks!

Clients love to find out the newest innovative products out in the market , especially if it can potentially replace some jobs that require foil printing. Yes, I said foil printing! Some of you love the look but hate the texture, others hate the look but love the texture and some of you just plainly love it or hate it. It is never an understanding relationship with foil. For all you flashy Hardy fans this might hurt a little but foil sometimes stereotypes a product as cheap. Though that is not always the case trust me I’ve seen some amazing foil prints. Nevertheless what I am about to say can really be a replacement for some of your foil printing jobs. It is called rfu foil look by Jantex. The rfu foil look is actually a waterbase ink that simulates a foil print. It delivers an intense metallic look without having that thin foil wrap paper texture. What makes the rfu foil look great is that it actually adheres the ink on to the garment while having the foil properties on top. The best part is that you can add waterbase pigments to achieve an array of colors. The rfu foil look ink is a perfect way to achieve the look you want without all the hassle of foil.
